about me

Welcome! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Yoga Teacher (RYT), and EMDR therapy practitioner specializing in the treatment of, and recovery from, both single-incident and complex trauma. I work in private practice and as a primary therapist for clinical treatment centers where I focus on integrating cutting-edge modalities, such as EMDR, CRM and somatic into daily relational therapy.

I have experience in Mindfulness, somatic therapy, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, and have completed both levels 1 and 2 of EMDR training from EMDRIA-certified EMDR Institute, as well as Level 1 of CRM (Comprehensive Resource Model) training. Prior to private practice and trauma-focused intensive, I worked with The Center for Individual and Family Counseling where I treated a diverse population of clients with varying difficulties, such as anxiety, depression, addiction, sexuality, trauma, grief, self-esteem, eating disorders, relationships, and self improvement, including school-based mental health with Toluca Lake Public Schools.

Before pursuing psychology, I worked in higher education and the health and fitness world coaching individuals and teams in pursuing goals toward living healthier, more robust lives. I still continue my relationship with the health and fitness world today, and integrate those experiences into my therapy practice, knowing that a healthier body contributes powerfully to a healthy mind, brain, and spirit.

I treat survivors - adolescents, adults, and couples struggling with the affects of various types of trauma, including complex trauma and dissociative disorders, somatic complaints and disorders, anxiety, depression, bereavement, relational conflict, low self-esteem, and issues of personal growth. I am curious and intrigued by our individual differences as humans, and tailor my therapy approach according to those individual needs, meeting my clients with authenticity, candor, and a little bit of humor. I consider it an incredible privilege to be entrusted with a person's lightest and darkest places, and take great care to honor both the courage and the time given to that process.

By the time you come to see me, you've already struggled long enough. My goal for our first session is that something - anything - feels lighter, or that you leave entertaining the possibility that there is another way to feel, because there is another way.
